Department Of Commerce
This department is the youngest of all major departments of the college. It wasestablished in June of 1980 with the establishment of the commerce faculty in addition toArts and Science faculties. There are around 450 students enrolled at present in eachclass in the degree college.The commerce section cannot expand any further on account oflack of physical space(inspite of students clamouring for enrollment. In terms of academicperformance, the results of this section are way above the University average(in terms ofquality and quantity).
The major departments interacting with the B.Com. students are the Commerce, Economicsand Accountancy.

Apart from lecturing in the class rooms, we constantly interact with our students. Wetry to move beyond the limits of the prescribed syllabus by relating the topics to reallife current examples in industry. We provide elementary vocational counseling to studentsinterested in career guidance. We emphasize the all round development of our students andinculcate a set of values in them. Our efforts succeed partly because a family likeatmosphere prevailing in the college. The dropout rate is among the students eachyear is around 0%. The college has started a new vocational course in computers since1994, with a total strength of 30 students.
